You Are Not Alone
I woke up to some pretty terrible news this morning about someone I toured with just last month. In late December I woke up to similar news about someone I toured with all of 2023. Both texts were about young men who took their own lives. I can’t begin to try to understand what either of them we’re going through to lead them to that decision, but I do know what they were like just before. Neither of them showed any sign of considering self harm. Neither of them gave any hints or had me worried about their safety in any way.
This year is looking rough for touring. Everyone feels it, you are not alone. The country feels uncertain, the economy is hurting, tours are being cancelled and postponed everyday. I had a huge one canceled yesterday and I will greatly feel the effects of it emotionally and financially.
